Beverly (Pedroso) Anthes passed away peacefully at her home on June 19, 2026 in Bristol CT. The family would like to thank the incredible hospice staff who cared for Beverly during her final weeks.
Beverly was the only child of Joseph Pedroso and Celeste (Gago) Pedroso born on September 16, 1942. She attended Crosby High School in Waterbury CT and graduated from New Bedford High School in New Bedford MA. She received her degree in Fashion & Merchandising from Mount Ida College in Newton MA.
She met her beloved husband George on a blind date in 1964 and she had been with him until his death in 2022.
Beverly had an amazing 50 year career in retail with Filene’s, Filene’s Basement and Lord and Taylor. She was the first female store manager for Filene’s in 1975 and went on to lead stores for the company for years. She kept working in retail in her later years at Chico’s and really enjoyed helping people. She lived in Lowell for most of her adult life and enjoyed all the friendships she had made over those years.
Beverly adored her only daughter Pamela Huckaby, her husband Malcolm Huckaby and her four grandchildren, Emily Sullivan, Alexa, Jacob and Austin Huckaby. Family was very important to her and she loved watching her family grow over the years. She really enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and hearing about their accomplishments as they grew.
The family held a private burial service at the Massachusetts National Cemetery at Bourne and a Memorial Mass at the Immaculate Conception church will be held at a later date. Arrangements by the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, Lowell, 978-452-6361. Memorials in her name can be made to the Monastery of St. Clare, 445 River Road, Andover MA 01810.
