Mirna A. Ortiz Alonzo, 68, of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, with her loving family by her side, following complications from a heart attack.
Born in Escuintla, Guatemala, on April 26, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Arnulfo Ortiz and the late Angela Cruz. Mirna was raised and educated in Jalapa, Guatemala. In 1981, she came to the United States, first settling in the Los Angeles and Englewood area of California before eventually making her home in New England in Lowell and Dracut. A devoted homemaker, Mirna dedicated her life to caring for her home and family.
She is survived by her three children Sugey, Ana (Yeimi), Jesus, her beloved Niece Sonia, and cherished grandchildren: Daniel, Daisy, Angel, Brandon, Gabriel, and Sofia
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Mahoney Funeral Home, 187 Nesmith Street, Lowell. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon at Saint Patrick Church, 282 Suffolk Street, Lowell. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 90 River Road, Tewksbury.
