Patricia Gail McGuire Taupier

July 30, 1936 – March 19, 2023

Patricia Gail Taupier, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away quietly and in the loving care of her daughters at the Elegance Memory Care Center in Novato, California. Patricia was born in West Hartford, Connecticut to Patrick and Dorothy (LaBoulliere) McGuire. She studied at Boston College where she earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing, made many lifelong friends, and met her future husband, William Taupier, who preceded her in death on December 3, 2014.

Patricia and Bill set upon a life adventure that included five children: Alan and his wife Lisa of Marblehead, Anne of Novato, California; Kim and her husband, Zach Wright, who reside in Portland, Oregon; William Jr and his wife Kristen of Melrose, and Tara and her husband David, also of Novato. She was the loving and beloved grandmother of Hazel, Olivia, Mac, Owen, and Soren. Bill and Pat were active members of their chosen cities, Holyoke and Lowell, which were the venues of their passionate public service and the homes of their dearest friends. Each contributed to these cities through their active public lives and were founding members of community organizations and charitable groups that still endure today.

Patrica’s home always beautifully exuded her warmth and welcoming spirit. She was the most gracious, fun-loving, and generous wife, mother, friend, neighbor, and host. There was always room for one more at her table, and there was always a haven for a stray animal in her home.

A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, 11am at the Immaculate Conception Church, 144 E. Merrimack Street, Lowell, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the scholarship fund that she and Bill established to benefit college-bound students at Lowell High School:
