Michael Moyle

Michael Moyle, 69, of Lowell, passed away after a brief illness at his home on Saturday, December 23, 2023.

Born on May 31, 1954, to the late John Moyle and the late Corinne Stephenson Moyle. He grew up in Groton, MA and attended the local schools. Mike attended UMASS Amherst on a scholarship where he earned a Bachelor in Fine Arts degree and was a member of the Science Fiction Society (UMSFS).

Mike worked for 20+ years as an illustrator for the city of Lowell’s Department of Planning and Development office (DPD), and was responsible for designing many of the banners and decorations seen around the city throughout recent years. In his spare time he was a fan of science fiction and comic books. He could often be found enjoying science fiction conventions, or watching Marvel movies with his daughter and her husband.

He leaves his daughter Guinevere E. Moyle and her husband Tristan Lewis of Londonderry, NH, his siblings, Robert Smith and his wife Daphne of North Carolina, Susan Moyle of New York, and Steve Moyle and his wife Suzanne of Massachusetts. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

On Saturday the 10th of February, 2024, from 2-5pm, all are welcome to join his family to celebrate his life at Tavern In The Square, at 900 Chelmsford Street, Lowell, MA. In accordance to Mike’s wishes, please wear a hawaiian shirt (or other brightly colored happy clothing), as we celebrate Mike’s life. Light refreshments will be served.
