She was the best Aunt and a lifelong friend…very intelligent confidante with a girlish giggle and sense of humor. She is sadly missed. I love you Aunt Mary.

I will always remember Aunt Mary. I will especially remember spending time with her as a young girl. She took me and my sisters to a pow wow (I treasured the hair feather and dream catcher she bought me there for years), we listened to classical music in her car, we stayed up late drinking virgin daiquiris, we played with all of her trinkets. and of course, we practiced our piano skills on her beautiful piano. I will also remember the family Thanksgivings that she often hosted. In later years, I got a kick out of how much you loved my babies and I only wish I found the time to visit you more during these times. You were one of a kind, Aunt Mary, and we’ll all miss you.

When my husband Bruce introduced me to his wonderful aunt Mary 20 years ago , she became my aunt as well. We always enjoyed visiting her in Norfolk. Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Vino would get so excited every time he would visit Mary . She loved him very much . We enjoyed our trips to Briggs and other nurseries. We enjoyed our trips to Boston to the flower show for many years. Many holidays were spent at Mary‘s house.. We enjoyed some fantastic meals, and she was such a wonderful and gracious hostess.. We miss and love her so much. God bless you, Mary.

Mary was a lovely kind person who I spent time with during her real estate career and after her retirement. Mary loved to talk about her family and her many trips. She loved the water, plants, animals and cherished her friends and family. I will miss her. Rest in Peace Mary.

I have known Aunt Mary for over 40 years as she is my wife’s aunt. I very much admired and respected Mary’s independence, her love of the arts, her interest in politics, her playfulness with children, and her love of all the 4 leggeds in her life and ours. We enjoyed going to her home, and having her come down to our rented cottage on the Cape with her sisters Nean, and Fifi,. And having laughing fits over nothing, . This last year and 1/2 was tough as Mary much preferred a stimulating conversation over someone doing her dishes for her. I bet she was a great teacher. She always was interested in my own life and work. Here’s to you Mary Shaheen for your courage and determination and.for the legacy you left for your descendants .You will indeed be. missed ! 💜
