Marian H. (Weart) Cook

LOWELL Marian H. (Weart) Cook, 91, of Lowell, passed away on Saturday January 29, 2022 at her home. She was the wife of Leon A. Cook who passed away January of 2011 after 59 years of marriage.

She was born on April 12, 1930 in Bingham, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Mearl and the late Doris (Ware) Weart. She grew up, and attended school in Maine, and while in college she met her future husband Leon. They were married in Saco, and then relocated to Massachusetts in 1956. She enjoyed knitting in her spare time, but most important to her was time spent with her family.

She is survived by her five children, Russell M. Cook and his wife Mary Ruth of Lowell, Kathie L. Sierpina and her husband Daniel of Prescott, AZ, Audrey M. Burke and her husband William of Amherst, NH, Richard A. Cook of Orange, and Linda A. Cook of Lowell; her grandchildren Mary Cook and Karen (Cook) Barter and her husband Bruce , Shawn Burke and his wife Kimberly, Sandra (Burke) Saeui and her husband Curt and Mackenzie Burke, Cara Leigh (Cook) Brennan and her husband James, Robert and Sheena Pratt, William and Kyndra Cook; and also her great grandchildren, Jackson and Kennedy Burke, Lucas and Lauren Brennan and Jaxton Pratt.

She was the sister of the late Ernestine C. Barstow.

In accordance with the city of Lowell mandate, masks are required on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 9am until 11am at the Mahoney Funeral Home, 187 Nesmith Street, Lowell, MA 01852, 978-452-6361. At the conclusion of her calling hours, her funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 11am, followed by procession to St. Mary Cemetery.
