Margarita Laboy-Flores

LOWELL Margarita Laboy-Flores, 77, a longtime Lowell resident, passed away Monday, April 24, 2023, at Lowell General Hospital with her family by her side. For the past Fifty Seven years, she was the beloved wife to Felix Vega-Lebron.

A daughter of the late Martin Laboy and the late Felicita Flores, she was born June 25, 1945, in Puerto Rico, and was raised and educated there. She made her home with her family in Puerto Rico until 2017, when she moved to Lowell.

Margarita was a wonderful mother and loved her family first and foremost as her family was the most important thing in her life. She was also a very independent woman and enjoyed taking care of herself along with her family. She also liked dancing.

In addition to her loving husband, Felix, she is survived by her five children, Daniel Rodriguez of Worcester, Luis Osvaldo-Rodriguez of Lowell, Wanda Vega of Lowell, Milton Vega of Rhode Island, and Luis Vega of Lowell; her twelve grandchildren; her thirteen great grandchildren; her siblings, Ines Gonzales, Carmen LaBoy, and Doris Isidora; and many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was also predeceased by five siblings.

You are invited to Her Calling Hours on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 5 until 9 p.m. at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, 978-452-6361. On Saturday friends and relatives are invited to gather at the funeral home at 10 a.m. her funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 11 a.m.. Burial in the Westlawn II Cemetery.
