Jose R. Toledo-Colon

LOWELL – Jose R. Toledo-Colon, 93, of Lowell, passed away at his home in Lowell on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was the widower of the late Olga Iris (Gonzalez) Toledo, who died in 2020 after 64 years of marriage.

A son of the late Jose R. Toledo and the late Luisa Colon, he was born February 18, 1930, in Lares, Puerto Rico, and was raised and educated there, before moving to the Lowell area.

Following his service with the United States Army, Jose was employed at Wang Laboratories until his retirement. His greatest joys in life were spending time with his family; particularly his children and grandchildren and he loved dancing with and singing to, the love of his life, Olga.

Additionally, he had a passion for playing dominoes and studying the Bible. Those who knew him were immediately drawn to his kind and loving nature, and admired his unwavering devotion to God. He made a habit of practicing daily prayer, expressing gratitude, and extending generosity to those in need, leaving a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.

His survivors include his children, Gloria Luhan and her husband, Stephen, Maria Amaral and her husband, Mario, Jose L. Toledo, Reinaldo Toledo and his wife, Nichole, Gerardo Toledo, Maria Pecoraro, Noraide Haney and her husband, John, Noraida Toledo, D’alma Colon and her husband, Juan, Jose R. Toledo Jr., Myriam Toledo and her husband, Jose, and Olga M. Nieves and her husband, Samuel; his twenty four grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

Jose was also the father of the late Aracelis Toledo and the late Luis E. Toledo, and father in law of the late Susan Toledo.

On Tuesday, April 18, all are welcome to attend his calling hours from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, 978-452-6361. His Funeral Service will be held at 12 p.m. at the funeral home followed by procession for burial in Westlawn Cemetery.
