James T. ‘Jim’ Callahan
LOWELL. James T. ‘Jim’ Callahan, 71, of Lowell, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at High Pointe Hospice House after a brief illness. He was the widower of the late Mary Ann (Fergusson) Callahan who died in 2017.
A son of the late Gerald and the late Dorothy (Brown) Callahan, he was born July 20, 1952, in Medford and was raised and educated there, graduating from Medford High School, Class of 1971. He joined to serve with the National Guard in 1972, serving for twenty years.
Jim loved the Red Sox, playing the guitar, and fishing. He worked for Home Depot in Tewksbury in the lumber department for over thirty years. Prior to that he worked for Stop and Shop for over twenty years.
His survivors include his son, Michael Locarno; his two grand daughters, Amaya and Tatiana; his former daughter in law, Veronica Locarno; his siblings, Gerald Callahan Jr. and his wife, Marie of California; Dorothy MacAdams of North Reading, John Callahan and wife, Rosalind, of Wyoming, Maureen Sampson and husband, John, of Wilmington, and Matthew Callahan and wife ,Yan Li, of China; as well as his many nieces and nephews and their families and the many friends and acquaintances he made throughout his lifetime.
He was predeceased by his siblings David Callahan, and his wife Louise, Michael J. Callahan and Joseph Callahan and was a brother in law of the late Jerry MacAdams.
