James J. Manning

WEST PALM BEACH, FL James J. Manning, 88 of West Palm Beach, FL formerly of Lowell, passed away peacefully after a brief illness at his home with his wife by his side. He was the husband of Cynthia F. (Bakunas) Manning with whom he would have shared their 53rd wedding anniversary in two weeks on April 13, 2022.

He was born in Lowell, MA on March 27, 1934 and was a son of the late James J. Manning and the late Margaret (Hanifin) Manning. He was raised in Lowell, where he attended the area schools graduating from Lowell Technical School with his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

For over 35 years, James was employed as a Product Assurance Manager at Raytheon until his retirement. He was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church and the former Sacred Heart Church. James was an avid golfer and was Past President of Long Meadow Golf Club in Lowell from 1973-1974; and was a member of Vesper Country Club in Tyngsboro from 1977-1996.

In addition to his wife, Cynthia F. (Bakunas) Manning of West Palm Beach, FL he is survived by a niece, two nephews, and many cousins. He was also the brother of the late Brenden Manning who passed away in 1996.

On Friday, April 8, 2022 all are welcome to attend his funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 144 East Merrimack Street, Lowell. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Tewksbury.
