“Papo”
Guillermo Reyes-Montanez, of Lowell, passed away peacefully, Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston after a short battle with health issues.
Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, on September 22, 1949, he was a son of Amelia Reyes and Guillermo Montanez.
Papo was a boxer, a CDL driver for Shaws Market, and a mechanic and also worked for Westford Quarries .
He is survived by his children, Celeste Montanez and her four children, Sebastian Noonan, and his son, Stiles Noonan,
Chandeliz Noonan and her children, Nathanyael Wilmot and Donna Noonan, Cassandra Noonan and Thalia Noonan and her son, Elliott Potter, Melody Montanez and her daughter, Lily Ramos Gerard and Amy Montanez.
In addition, he is survived by his estranged wife, Catherine Montanez and her three children, Michelle English, David English, and Hector Jimenez; his significant other, Marta Ortega and her five children and eight grandchildren; as well as an abundance of siblings, nieces, and nephews and their families.
He was predeceased by his son, Guillermo Montanez III and Catherine’s son, Shelton English.
You are invited to his Visitation on Thursday, March 13, 2025, from 9 until 11 a.m. at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, Lowell, 978-452-6361. His Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. followed by burial in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
