Frederick T. “Fred” Lannon, 74, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on September 21, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the devoted husband of Lauren J. (Camara) Lannon, with whom he celebrated 41 wonderful years of marriage this past July.
Born on February 20, 1950, in Lowell, Fred attended local schools and graduated from Lowell High School. Following his graduation, Fred enlisted in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1971 where he held the titles of both Crew Chief and Sergeant.
Upon returning home to Lowell after his service, Fred began a long and successful career in electronics as a Registered System Technician. He also held a Security Systems Certificate of Clearance from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. He worked for various companies throughout the years, most recently with Securadyne Systems in Andover (formerly Wilmington), where he maintained and repaired security equipment. For the last 30 years, he made his home in Chelmsford, where he built a life filled with family and cherished moments.
Fred was a humble and hard-working man who, above all, treasured his family and cat, Sammy. It was with boundless love and great pride that he shared in their accomplishments and joys. Fred had a passion for the outdoors. He loved spending time in Rockport, Cape Cod, and Salisbury, enjoying the peacefulness of the ocean. At home, he enjoyed working in his yard and relaxing with a good cup of coffee.

Lannon, and his wife, Abigail, of Woburn; and his cherished grandchildren: Meadow and Rowan Williams, and Hailey and Cameron Lannon. He also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Joseph A. Camara, and his husband, Edward J. Banks, of Lowell. Fred is also survived by his son, Scott Lannon, and was predeceased by his son, Christopher Lannon.

I am so sorry to hear about your husband’s passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I had the pleasure of working with Fred (Doc) Lannon years ago at Eastern Video Systems. Doc was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He was an excellent technician and as we said, “if Fred can’t fix it, it ain’t broke.” My thoughts and prayers to his family..
So sorry for your loss.Sending prayers.
