Helping Families and Friends Honor Their Loved One

Frances E. (Buckley) Kuilan

Frances E. Kuilan (Buckley), 52, of Lowell, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Lahey Clinic surrounded by her loving family. Just one month shy of her 28th Wedding Anniversary, she was the beloved wife of Rafael Kuilan, and doting mother to their two children, Lily Elia and Philip Armando.

A daughter of the late Philip Buckley Sr., and the late Dorothy Buckley (Morse), she was born on December 29, 1968 in Methuen and educated in the Lawrence School system. Frances made her home in Lowell and was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church. She dedicated much of her time to St. Vincent de Paul, along with her husband, helping those less fortunate.

For over 30 years, Frances worked as an assembler for Microchip in Lawrence before her retirement. She enjoyed Friday night bingo in Hudson and was an avid snow globe collector from the many places she visited. She loved her yearly camping trips in Lebanon with her family.

Family was the center of Frances’s world, starting with her two children, Lily and Philip. The love she had for her family was the foundation of her happiness, making her a touchstone for so many of her family members and friends. In her final days, her brother, Philip Jr., became a great source of inspiration and joy to Frances.

In addition to her loving husband, Rafael, and her beloved children, Lily and Philip, Frances is survived by her two brothers, Gerald Morse of Dracut, and Philip Buckley, Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Salem, NH; her sister, Ruth Ross of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; her mother in law, Elia Kuilan of Lowell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Frances Vega of Lawrence.

She was also a niece of the late Mike Buckley and daughter in law of the late Armando Kuilan.

Because Frances loved the color purple, the family asks that you respectfully show your love for the color purple at the visitation on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, from 9 until 11 a.m. at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, 978-452-6361. Her Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Patrick Church, 282 Suffolk St., Lowell, at 12 noon. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorials to her name to St. Vincent de Paul Society, c/o St. Patrick Church, 282 Suffolk St., Lowell, MA 01854.
