Eileen B. Young, 87, of Stuart, FL, formerly of Lowell, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2024. She was the wife of the late Everett J. Young, with whom she shared 26 years of marriage before his passing in 2004.
Eileen was born on September 6, 1936, in Quebec Canada, the daughter of the late Walter and Bertha (McLish) L’Esperance. Her family relocated to Lowell, where she grew up and completed her education, graduating from Lowell High School.
Besides her family, Eileen’s spiritual life was her highest priority, and she was an active, lifelong Roman Catholic parishioner. She volunteered for many different ministries and was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Parish for many years. She was devoted to her prayer group, and volunteered as the “Coffee & Donut” lady at the children’s Mass for many years. Eileen was also closely involved with the Franciscan Order, dedicating time to their causes.
Eileen had a passion for life and cherished spending time with her family, especially in Ogunquit ME. In 2017, she relocated to Florida to be closer to her family, but Lowell was always considered home.
Eileen leaves behind her loving children: Eileen M. Thibeault of Stuart, FL; Maryann Thibeault-Vandette and her wife Elaine of New Smyrna Beach, FL; Maureen A. Overn and her husband Edward of St. Cloud, FL; and Paul Thibeault of St. Cloud, FL. She was the proud grandmother of seven: Elizabeth E. Overn, Kathryn L. Sparger and her husband Andrew, Cora Thibeault, Zachary Thibeault, Courtney Sott, Carolynne Sott, and Michaella George and her husband Sean. She also adored her great-grandchildren: Deakon, Greyson, and Camden George.
Besides her parents, Eileen was predeceased by her siblings, Walter L’Esperance Jr. and Jacqueline Ferrier.
