Doris Katherine Mulligan

LOWELL. Doris Katherine (Kelley) Mulligan, 98, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2025. She was the widow of the late John J. Mulligan who died in 2008 after Fifty Nine years of Marriage.

A daughter of the late Peter and the late Katherine (Sullivan) Kelley, she was born October 9, 1926, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in the City, graduating from Lowell High School. She was a longtime communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.

Doris worked as a clerk for the former Capital Warehouse in Lowell and had also worked for General Electric in Lowell years ago as an assembler. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, and baking, but her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren.

Her survivors include her son, John Mulligan and his wife, Evelyn, of Lowell; her two daughters, Mary Mulligan and her husband, Arnold Saitow, of Methuen and Judith Green and her husband, James, of Lowell; her beloved grandchildren, John Mulligan, Christine Mulligan and her husband, Jonathan Koenigsamen, Kathleen Simanski and her husband, Benjamin, and Elizabeth & Emma Green; her great grandchildren, Jonathan, Margaret, Erin, and William; as well as by her many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was predeceased by her siblings, Frances, Gladys, Katherine, Joan, Henry, and Peter.

You are invited to join the Family for Doris’ Funeral Mass on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 11 a.m. at IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 144 East Merrimack Street, Lowell. Procession for burial will follow to St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury. Donations in Doris’ name to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, 144 East Merrimack Street, Lowell MA 01852 will be appreciated.
