Jennie (Korologos) Soseos

LOWELL Jennie (Korologos) Soseos, 91, of Lowell, passed on to our Lord and Savior after long term hospice care at the home of her daughter in Vermont on Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was the former wife of the late Theodore Soseos, whom she met in the Greek Church choir.

She was born on July 25, 1930 in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late George and the late Efrosini (Milonopoulos) Korologos. She grew up in Lowell, was among National Honor Society ranks and was the volunteer Secretary to the Head Master of Lowell High School. She went on to work in Lowell dress shops, was a book keeper, then learned insurance work and finally worked in the mortgage departments of local banks. She was conscientious and excelled in all she did.

Her family will remember her for her excellent cooking of both Greek and American meals, her great sense of humor and her generosity to those in need. Although not able to attend often, Jennie was a long term member of St George Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell. She was a Red Sox and Patriot fan, loved the snow blizzard game with Tom Brady. She especially loved her cat Flipper and her daughter’s dog, Harry the Rottweiler, and all the other pets her kids had. She was a fan of Harry Belafonte, Neil Diamond and Tina Turner music and loved to watch The Nutcracker Ballet at the Wang or ballet on TV along with watching ice figure skating during the Olympics.

She is survived by her three children, Christos F. Soseos of Lowell, Sandra J. Soseos of both Vermont and Massachusetts and Catherine Powers of Lowell; as well her grandson Patrick Theodore Powers of Lowell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a Goddaughter, Maria Harvey. She missed her friends at Lowell Elderly Housing after she moved to Vermont for four months for better care. And now she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Athas, Sophie Korologos and Athena “Tina” Harvey.

Schedule: St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 44 Princeton Blvd, Lowell, MA, on Wednesday, September 29, beginning with a visitation / reverence at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11am, then burial prayers at Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
