Ronald B. Polubinski, 82, a lifelong resident of Lowell, Massachusetts, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, after a long illness. He was the beloved husband of Gail (Armstrong) Polubinski, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage.

Born on May 28, 1943, in Lowell, he was the son of the late Anthony and Helen (Povlionus) Polubinski. Ron was raised and educated in Lowell and graduated from Lowell Trade School. He proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving as a communications technician during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, he returned home to Lowell.

Ron began his career at Western Electric as a detail draftsman, where he met the love of his life, Gail. The couple soon married and built a life and family together. He later continued his professional career at Wang Laboratories and other local tech companies until his retirement.

A devoted family man, Ron cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He possessed a deep appreciation for art and was a talented artist, particularly skilled in drawing. He also had a strong passion for history, especially World War II, and a lifelong love of cats, with a particular admiration for lions. One of the great highlights of his life was a memorable trip to Africa, where he observed lions in their natural habitat. He found great peace by the seashore, where the sound and presence of the ocean brought him comfort and solace.

In addition to his wife, Gail, of Lowell, he is survived by his son, Christopher Polubinski and his wife Randee, also of Lowell; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gayton and Kelly Armstrong of Hudson, New Hampshire; as well as several nieces and nephews.

His burial in the Lowell Cemetery will take place privately. www.mahoneyfuneralhome.com
