Patricia Nora (Sullivan) Brown, 91, born in Lewiston, Maine, was a resident of Lowell, Mass the majority of her life, died on July 20, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Arthur “Sonny” Bernard Brown for over 66 years, who predeceased her in 2023. She was the daughter of Amos and Mary (Sullivan) Sullivan of Lowell and was born on January 23, 1934. She was a Communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. Patricia was a graduate of the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsborough and Regis College in Weston. In addition, she earned a Master of Science in Mathematics at Boston College.
Patricia was employed as a computer engineer at General Electric before starting the career she loved – teaching. She taught in Acton and Lowell for almost 40 years. For over 20 years she was a math teacher at Lowell High.
She loved her “Sonny” and enjoyed traveling with him and taking long rides in the car. They centered their lives around enjoying their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Jennifer King and her husband Steven King of Tyngsboro, MA; and four sons, Michael Brown, Rear Admiral, USN (Retired) and his wife Therese, of Seabrook, NH; Kevin Brown and his wife Kim, of Pepperell, MA; Richard Brown, Vice Admiral, USN (Retired) and his wife Erin, of Jacksonville, FL; and Stephen Brown and his husband David DuCharme, of Manchester, NH; 8 granddaughters, 5 grandsons and 8 great grandchildren.
On Wednesday, July 23, 2025 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 9-11 a.m. at Mahoney Funeral Home, 187 Nesmith Street, Lowell 978-452-6361. Her funeral mass will be offered at 12 noon at Immaculate Conception Church, 144 E. Merrimack Street, Lowell. Burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Lowell. Not only a neighbor – but my math teacher at Lowell High – she was always very kind and helpful – just a great teacher. God bless her soul – and the Brown and Sullivan families.
