    For Jack

    Oh he loved to
    play those drums
    the snare, tom toms,
    ride, high-hat,
    crash, sizzle
    stomp that pedal
    pound that bass
    a blur of sticks
    a fan of brushes
    any song, any style
    you could feel the beat
    the bounce, the rhythm
    and he filled the sound
    with dulcet tones
    a rat-a-tat, tish tish
    tickety, tickety boom
    that was the man
    on his drums
