Our charge for direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains; transportation to crematory; necessary authorizations (city/town and medical examiner) and cremation.  Alternative containers are a simpler alternative to purchasing a casket, and encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without and outside covering). The alternative container we provide is a fiberboard container.
