Christine “Chrissy” (St. George) Boynton, 69, of Lowell, died on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, following a lengthy battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of Edward E. Boynton, with whom she exchanged vows in 2005.
Born in Medford on April 3, 1957, she was the daughter of the late Brendan E. St. George, a native of Dublin, Ireland, and the late Theresa M. (Maloney) St. George. Chrissy was raised and educated in Stoneham,MA before going on to earn her degree in hotel management. She built a long career in the pharmaceutical industry, working in quality assurance.
Chrissy was happiest when she was with her husband and family. She and Ed were forever taking day trips and road trips, setting out to see the local sights and wandering wherever the road happened to bring them. She loved New England and never seemed to tire of exploring it, whether that meant an afternoon at a local farm, a morning spent combing through yard sales and consignment shops, or simply a long drive with no particular destination in mind.
Above all, family came first. Chrissy never missed a gathering. A wedding, a birthday, a cousin’s celebration, an evening at an aunt and uncle’s house, whatever the occasion, Chrissy and Ed would be there. She was a warm and caring woman with a remarkable steadiness about her. Very little ever rattled her, she kept a clear head when others could not, and she never gave up on the people she loved. She asked for no fuss and wanted no attention for herself, yet she left a lasting impression on nearly everyone she met.
In addition to her husband Edward, Chrissy is survived by her siblings; Kevin St. George and his wife Karen of Pepperell, MA, Kathy St. George and her husband Kriss Kline of Lakeville, MA, Patricia St. George of Reno, NV; Rosemary St. George of Cambridge, MA, her nieces and nephews, Ian St. George of Newburyport, MA, Colin St. George of Acworth, NH, Casey St. George Simon of Reno, NV and Nicky St. George Simon of Lander, WY. She also leaves behind her large Irish extended family, all of whom were dear to her.
All are welcome to attend her committal service at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford,MA on October 5, 2026 at 1:30PM. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Mahoney Funeral Home, 187 Nesmith Street, Lowell, MA 01852. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in her memory to New England Donor Services neds.org/give/ or to the American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org. Loving support to the family at this difficult time
I will always remember that radiant smile…Chrissy never seemed to be without it. She had such a kind and joyful spirit and I know she will be sorely missed. Thinking of you all and sending my deepest sympathy.
Thinking of you all so sorry for your loss 🙏🙏☘️☘️🇮🇪🇮🇪
Chrissy, I will always think of your smile, your spirit, your warmth, your selflessness. You are truly unforgettable and will be missed each and every day. Love you.
My deep condolences to Ed and all her family and loved ones. We were good friends in high school and worked together at Redd Rexall Drug. Some of my favorite memories are the times spent hanging out in Chrissy’s basement, playing bumper pool with everyone singing along to Elton John records. She was a wonderful person.
