Francis W. Ahearn (Frank/Jeep) passed away at his Belvidere home May 15, 2026 after a short period of declining health. Born August 21, 1934, he was the son of Jennie and Frank Ahearn.
Raised in the Acre he graduated from Lowell High School (‘52) where he was the captain of the basketball team. He served 4 years in the Air Force as a crypto analyst in Ramstein, Germany where he was chosen for their Olympic judo team. He attended Lowell Commercial College and Bentley College. For many years Frank was a proud member of the Lowell Fire Department, Local 853. He worked for 40 years at the Lowell Firefighters Credit Union where he served as Treasurer.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Barbara (McCarthy) and his daughters Allison, Sharon and Kathleen (Hans Kerrinckx), in-laws Mary (Jerry) O’Connor and Rita (Steve) McCarthy/Fox and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Shirley Gendron (Leonard-LFD), brothers Hugh and James (Margaret) and in-laws Cecilia and William McCarthy (LFD) and Ann (David) Baron.
Per Frank’s wishes there will be no services.
